Each year we offer a Practitioner Intensive training to our Bodywork community. Whether you are a massage therapist, Naturopath, or practice another form of Bodywork, this training offers an in-depth journey into Structural Integration and the Ten Session Series. We are currently taking reservations for our upcoming 2019 Practitioner Intensive, a continuing education training for licensed professionals. Please complete a “contact us” form for more information or call 503-984-8200 to speak with our staff directly.

The Practitioner Intensive is designed for practitioners who wish to add Structural Integration into their therapeutic “tool belt”. Often our students are practitioners who are wishing to expand the scope of their practice, are looking for a new or different perspective of health and wellness, and want to be able to deepen the scope of the impact with their clients.

This training is very interactive and requires active engagement with instruction as well as onsite and offsite practice. We offer a blend of lecture, demonstration, and extensive hands-on practice. Students will observe, receive and practice each of the ten different sessions (one session per weekend for ten months). In addition to giving and receiving their own ten-session series, students work with two class models each month.

The Intensive Practitioner Training is firmly grounded in practical hands-on experience. Larry invites his students to “see” the body through a multidimensional lens, allowing for students of various learning styles to quickly grasp the concepts of SI. Not only does Larry teach the founding principles of Ida Rolf’s 10 session recipe, he offers his unique perspectives of “The Work” gained by nearly 40 years of practice.  When I began the SI program, I was looking for the next step in my bodywork career.  What I didn’t know was by embodying the principles and concepts I learned through SI, I would find greater congruence between my personal and professional values. As a result, my professional and personal life have flourished!
While my journey into SI has just begun, I am thrilled to have an incredible community of teachers and fellow students to lean on for support. Thank you Larry, Ami, and Leslie!

I recommend Larry Kaufman as a teacher and practitioner of the highest caliber. His practitioner’s skills are nothing short of astounding.
Dr. Steven Sandberg Lewis

I see and feel my client’s bodies differently after taking Larry’s Structural Bodywork workshop. Larry is wholeheartedly the best bodywork teacher I’ve ever had and I’ve learned more in his workshop than any other workshop I’ve taken. Because of this, my practice has flourished and I now have a full practice. I am looking forward to taking the SI Intensive Practitioner course this coming fall and I highly recommend studying SI with Larry, to any and all bodywork practitioners.

Larry is one of the most skilled body-centered therapists I have ever seen.  He has a warm heart and a clear mind and is a good example of the kind of healer that we need on this planet.

Larry’s courses in structural integration have significantly changed the way I work with patients and the results that they achieve. In most of the general medicine cases I see, I now have a clear picture as to how to work with my patient’s body to help them release areas of restriction. By simply changing the flow and “ungluing” the soft tissues, I am finding that I prescribe fewer dietary supplements because so much changes with the return of blood flow. People feel like themselves again and from there it is easier to work on nutrition and lifestyle changes. My patients leave feeling much better with each visit and it gives us a chance to meet regularly while we are working with other pieces of the puzzle.
Dr. Ami Opal

Naturopath, Structural Integrator, The Opal Center, Portland oregon

My experience training with Larry Kaufman at the Northwest Center for Structural Integration not only changed the way I work as a body worker, but how I am as a healer, a guide, and a person. I learned that SI is not solely about bringing people into biomechanical and postural balance, though this is a result. When we guide our clients through the process of becoming more physically aligned we are also guiding them through the process of becoming more centered and grounded. Larry is not only amazing at being this guide for his clients, but for his students as they grow in the class and learn to become guides themselves. Even after completing the course I have a strong support system at NWCSI. I would highly recommend this course to anybody looking to enhance their work as a healer.
